Farah Nanji

Farah has joined CFI to work on the High-Risk EU AI Act Toolkit (HEAT) project. Her research interests are in the governance of emerging technologies and how sociotechnical imaginaries shape digital infrastructures. She holds an MSc in the Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford. Her thesis examined how the introduction of the EU AI Act is reshaping organisations by creating new AI Governance/Responsible AI roles, and analysed which ethical values and sociotechnical imaginaries are embedded in these roles and which are excluded. Prior to the MSc, she worked at Kobre & Kim LLP, a law firm specializing in international litigation, and at TikTok in the Employee Relations team. She holds a dual B.A. in Political Economy and Legal Studies with a minor in Human Rights from the University of California, Berkeley.
